Why Healing is Important

Bonjour, everyone. I hope everyone in NYS is staying warm and acting like you have the sense you were born with out in this finicky weather. I think I got a excited for a hot second. Let me explain.

Winter is giving birth to spring here in the northeast. The temperatures were hitting 60 degrees and threw me into temporary insanity. I walked out the house quite a few times without a coat on, but I thought it was okay because I had a hoodie on. I didn’t even have a coat on when it was raining outside.

You can only imagine how I am feeling now!

My body aches and my throat hurts. However, there are still things that need to be done right?

I don’t know about any of you, but I love to cook. Only when I am not feeling well my food never comes out right. Sometimes the food can be burned, too salty, overcooked, etc, and today was no different. I made tacos and put chili seasoning in the ground turkey. It came out okay after jazzing it up a little bit, but it didn’t taste like how I wanted my taco to taste. Thank God for the sauce.

There are times in our lives when we aren’t feeling up to par. Sometimes, we can experience physical fatigue, mental stress, and emotional turmoil all while battling spiritual warfare. This is when we need to stop for a minute and realign ourselves with God. Think of God as our spiritual sauce that makes everything taste better.

But we cannot stop there, we still have to take time to heal.

John 5:6-9 says,

When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Get up, take your bed, and walk.” And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked.

Jesus has all power and authority to heal us, but we must do the work to maintain that healing. If there is something weighing on you, then it can jeopardize your battle. Yes, God said we have the victory, but you must have the health and strength to fight the war.

We all go through things. We may have physical or mental hiccups that challege our esteem during our journey. That’s okay. If it weren’t, God would never allow you to go through it. Sometimes, it’s something we need to let go of that’s weighing us down. Sometimes, it’s the way we are living. Whichever, it is your responsibility to ask God to put some sauce on you and show you what you must do to heal.

In the meantime, I will act like it’s only April and put my coat back on. I love you all with the love of Christ. Honor your mother and father, love your sisters and brothers. Be kind to your neighbors. Most of all, honor, love, and be kind to yourself.
